Our Philosophy

At ALTIVITAS, we strive to cultivate a community of health and wellness. By seamlessly blending the timeless wisdom of ancient healing traditions with the precision of modern evidence-based medicine, we forge a holistic path towards well-being, where the synergy of the past and present creates a foundation for comprehensive health and healing.

Rooted in the values of integrative medicine, we consider not only the physical aspects but also the mental and spiritual dimensions of your well-being. Harmonizing these elements fosters a balanced and vibrant life. Through our comprehensive approach, we guide you towards sustainable health, providing the tools and support you need for a thriving lifestyle.

We are more than healthcare providers; we are partners in your pursuit of vitality, balance, and renewed well-being. Your optimal health is not a destination; it's a harmonious integration of mind, body, and spirit. Partner with us on a transformative journey.

Why ALTIVITAS was created

ALTIVITAS was created from a vision to redefine what healthcare could feel like, more personal, more connected, and centered around the whole person. After years in conventional medicine, Dr. Lindsay LaCorte recognized the need for a space where patients felt genuinely heard, supported, and cared for beyond their symptoms alone. Inspired by both modern evidence-based medicine and the wisdom of ancient healing traditions, she founded ALTIVITAS to offer a more thoughtful and integrative approach to wellness.

Rooted in the belief that true well-being comes from harmony between mind, body, and spirit, ALTIVITAS blends holistic therapies with personalized medical care to help individuals cultivate lasting health and vitality. More than a practice, ALTIVITAS was created to be a community, one that empowers and guides each person on their journey toward balance, healing, and renewed well-being.

What does "ALTIVITAS" mean?

Altivitas-Icon-Full (1)_edited.png

ALTIVITAS was inspired by the idea of “Elevating Lives” and created to reflect a mission of transformation, vitality, alignment, and human potential.

Rooted in classical Latin influences, the name was intentionally designed to feel timeless and universal. “Alti” evokes elevation, growth, and reaching higher, while “Vitas” draws from the Latin root for life and vitality. Together, ALTIVITAS represents the pursuit of a more elevated way of living physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

The visual structure of the name also carries symbolic meaning. The “V” and “A” forms reflect ancient geometric archetypes associated with balance, creation, and the union of complementary forces. These shapes echo principles found in sacred geometry, symbolizing harmony, consciousness, and integration.

ALTIVITAS is more than a name. It is a philosophy that brings together science, healing, beauty, wisdom, and transformation in the service of a more intentional human experience.

Founder

Dr. Lindsay LaCorte DO

From a young age, I have been fascinated by health and wellness, particularly the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spiritual health. This passion led me to pursue a career in medicine. I was particularly drawn to osteopathic medical training because it aligned with my beliefs and understanding of health and wellness. I graduated from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2012 with a strong commitment to the osteopathic principles that are central to my practice. During medical school, I accepted a position as a predoctoral fellow in Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT), where I saw firsthand the benefits of a hands-on approach to healthcare. I went on to complete my residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip, NY, in 2016. This training equipped me with the skills to provide compassionate and comprehensive care to women at every stage of life. I am passionate about integrating the wisdom of traditional non-western medicine into modern healthcare. My continued studies have encompassed yoga, meditation, energy healing, Ayurvedic medicine, and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). I regularly collaborate with practitioners of these modalities to offer the most comprehensive and holistic care possible. My practice is built on a patient-centered approach, where open communication and mutual respect are fundamental to our journey toward optimal health. I am honored to guide individuals through their healthcare experiences and foster a collaborative environment that acknowledges each person’s unique needs. Join me in embracing a holistic approach to health—one that celebrates the deep connection between our physical, mental, and spiritual selves. Together, let’s embark on a journey toward lasting well-being.

Barbara's care is grounded in connection, compassion, and presence. She meets each person where they are, providing a supportive environment where healing can unfold. Barbara grew up on Cape Cod and continues to be inspired and restored by its natural beauty. Away from work, she enjoys spending time in nature with her husband or reading a good book in the company of her two cats.

Integrative Threshold Support

Elizabeth McKeen NP

I believe healing happens when we care for the whole person—body, mind, spirit, and the deeper wisdom that lives within each of us. As a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner, I blend conventional medicine with integrative, holistic, and Earth-based healing traditions to support individuals navigating health challenges, life transitions, and personal transformation. My training includes certification in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy through the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS), Medicinal Plants through Cornell University, and advanced study in Reiki, Polarity Therapy, Shamanic Energy Medicine, and End-of-Life Coaching and Doula care. These experiences have shaped an approach that honors both science and spirit, integrating evidence-informed medicine with practices that support healing, resilience, and transformation. I don’t simply guide others along the healing path—I walk it myself. Through my own experiences of illness, healing, and deep spiritual practice, I have come to know this terrain intimately. These experiences have deepened my trust in the body’s innate capacity to heal and strengthened my commitment to meeting each person with presence, authenticity, and compassion. I believe each of us carries an innate capacity for healing. My role is to help you reconnect with that inner wisdom, clear what stands in the way, and support you as you move toward equilibrium. Whether you are navigating chronic illness, seeking greater vitality, integrating expanded-state experiences, or moving through a significant life transition, my intention is to create a safe, collaborative space where healing can unfold. I believe healing is not about becoming someone new, but about remembering the wholeness that has always been within you.
